The following page tell us how to measure a box frame window screen.
Measuring Frame Width
1. Measure the width from the left edge of the box to the right edge of the box.
Record your measurements to the nearest 1/16 of an inch (round down if between 1/16's)
Do not include the width of the lip on each side.
2. Re-measure at the bottom of the frame to confirm. Do not include the width of the lip
on each side. If the difference is within 1/8" use the smaller measurement. If the
difference is greater than 1/8" call Customer Service at 1-800-554-4696 for assistance.
3. Record the Width measurement on the order worksheet.
Measuring Frame Height
1. Measure the height from the bottom edge of the box to the top edge of the box.
Record your measurements to the nearest 1/16 of an inch (round down if between 1/16's)
Do not include the width of the lip on the top and bottom.
2. Re-measure on the right side of the frame to confirm. Do not include the width of the lip
on the top and bottom. If the difference is within 1/8"use the smaller measurement. If the
difference is greater than 1/8" call Customer Service at 1-800-554-4696 for assistance.
3. Record the Height measurement on the order worksheet.
Measuring Thickness of Lip Frame
1. Verify that the thickness of the frame is 3/8". For this measurement, you should include
the thickness of the lip around the edge.
2. Record the Thickness measurement on the order worksheet.
Measure the Crossbar Distance
1. Determine if the screen has a crossbar-vertical or horizontal.
If your screen does not have a crossbar, choose "NONE" on your order worksheet.
2. For horizontal crossbar, measure the distance from the bottom of the frame to the
bottom edge of the crossbar. Do not include the lip.
3. For vertical crossbar, measure the distance from the left side of the frame to the
left edge of the crossbar. Do not include the lip.
4. Record the Crossbar measurement on the order form, under either horizontal
or vertical.
